One of the areas of Donald Trump’s and JD Vance’s greatest damage to the American security and other interests has come from their pieces of threat and alienation of the American military and economic alliances, as well as undermining our prospective powerful military and economic allies, such as Ukraine. At the same time, our inextricably adverse countries, such as Russia and China have expanded their antagonistic to the West alliance to pose greater and growing threat to American economic, geopolitical and security interests. Instead of continuing on this dangerous path, America must encourage a growth of the number and quality of democracies around the world, as well as their inclusion in our economic and mutual defense alliances. For example, there is a growing number of people in Dr. Roginsky’s motherland Belarus who wish to overthrow the regime of the Russian dictator Putin’s puppet, illegitimate president of Belarus Lukashenko. The United states can and should help the Belarusian resistance movement to topple Lukashenko and turn the country into a new European democracy that would become a member of the Western alliance, rather than a staging ground for European conquest of Putin’s Russia. The United States long-term security would benefit from an expansion of the North Atlantic military alliance into a global military alliance of economically powerful democratic nations. Such alliance should include Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan, as well as Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. As a person who has come to possess intimate understanding of Russian imperialism, Dr. Roginsky will be a powerful advocate for such a course in international politics in Congress.
