In spite of being the world’s first and leading producer of automobiles, the United States lags behind most developed nations in public transportation, which causes great hardships for many millions of Americans, especially elderly and handicapped, who can’t afford the cost of rides to medical appointments, shopping and public events, especially in rural areas of the country. Inexpensive, creative solutions to this problem can be found, e.g. by government purchase, repair and use of old school buses for public transportation networks could greatly alleviate this problem. In Congress, Dr. Roginsky will spearhead a legislative push to make affordable and accessible public transportation for the majority of the American public.
